What Is TikTok Now Feature?
If you’ve used BeReal, you’ll quickly be familiar with the TikTok Now feature. With this feature, you can capture a 10-second video or a static image using the front and back camera on your device at the same time.
After sharing your first TikTok Now, you will receive a notification to create a post at a random time each day. Once opening this notification, you have 3 minutes to capture a photo or video. It’s a fun way to show your friends what you’re doing at the moment.
How to Access TikTok Now?
Currently, there’re two ways to access TikTok Now feature, via the TikTok app for Android and iOS and the TikTok Now app depending on your region.
If you’re in the U.S., you can directly access TikTok Now from the TikTok app. It’s on the left of the big plus icon at the bottom of your TikTok home page.
Users in other regions, they might access TikTok Now in the TikTok Now app. It’s a standalone app that has the same TikTok Now feature in the TikTok app. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play.
You can use the TikTok Now app without downloading the TikTok app. After opening the TikTok Now app, you can create a TikTok account or add an existing TikTok account to log in to this app.
How to Use TikTok Now to Post a Video/Photo?
Follow the steps below to post your photo or video with TikTok Now.
Step 1. Make sure that you’ve updated the TikTok app to the newest version. Open the TikTok app and tap Now in the bottom menu.
In the TikTok Now app, click the notification in the Friends tab.
Step 2. Tap the notification at the top to create your first TikTok Now. Then, a 3-minute countdown begins. Tap the shutter button to take a photo or hold it down to record a video.
When you first use TikTok Now, you should give access to the camera and microphone.
After the 3 minutes, you can still share a TikTok Now video/photo but it will be labeled as late.
Step 3. If you’re not satisfied with the first photo/video, tap the Retake at the top and click Retake to make a new one.
Step 4. Once done, you can tap the Friends can view button to make your post visible to everyone or friends, or followers.
In the TikTok Now app, you can choose everyone, friends, or followers to view your TikTok Now.
Step 5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom to post.
How to Delete a TikTok Now
From the TikTok app, find your TikTok Now, click the Share button, tap Delete, and select Delete to confirm.
From the TikTok Now app, click your profile picture, choose the TikTok Now you want to delete, click the More options button, and tap Delete.
How to Turn off TikTok Now Notifications?
As we mentioned above, the TikTok Now notifications will be enabled after you make the first TikTok Now video or photo. To turn off it, follow the steps below.
TikTok app:
Click Profile, tap the Menu (three lines) icon in the top right corner, select Settings and privacy, tap Push Notifications, and disable the Daily notifications setting.
TikTok Now app:
Click the profile picture, tap the Menu icon, tap Push Notifications, and disable the Daily notifications setting.

More About TikTok Now
The 3-minute countdown window to create a TikTok Now is only available for users aged 18 years and over. To use the TikTok Now feature, the users must be at least 13.
After you post a TikTok Now, your friends will see it in the Now feed in the TikTok app or the Friends feed in TikTok Now app, and you can view your friends’ TikTok Now of that day.
You can see your current and previous TikTok Now posts in the Memories feed. However, you can’t view friends’ past TikTok Now.
How to Fix TikTok Now Not Working?
If the TikTok Now feature doesn’t work or it’s missing from your TikTok app, you can try out the following steps to fix it.
Firstly, go to Profile > Menu icon > Settings and privacy > Clear Cache to delete TikTok caches. Then, open the Settings app on your phone and free up the storage used by TikTok. Open your TikTok app and check if the Now option is available.
If this does not work, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the TikTok app. Also, you can download the TikTok Now app.
