This guide teaches you how to edit the video clip in MiniTool MovieMaker.

Edit Video

MiniTool MovieMaker allows you to do color correction, add 3D LUT effects, rotate videos, control video playback, as well as edit video built-in audio.

Basic (Color Correction)

You can adjust the contrast, saturation, and brightness of a video or apply a 3D LUT effect to a video clip.

  1. Click the video clip on the timeline to open its editing window – Video Property.
  2. In the Basic tab, drag the sliders to adjust the contrast, saturation, and brightness of the video clip.
  3. To apply a 3D LUT effect, click its drop-down menu to select the desired effect.

MiniTool MovieMaker will automatically save the changes. Click Apply to all to apply those changes to all video clips on the timeline. If you want to cancel all the changes, just click the Reset button to go back to the original state.

Rotation

You can flip a video horizontally or vertically, or rotate a video at any angle.

  1. Click the video clip on the timeline to open Video Property.
  2. Switch to the Rotation tab.
  3. Select the option Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical.
  4. Drag the slider to rotate the video clip by a certain angle.

Speed

You can change the video playback speed between 0.01x to 50x.

  1. Click the video clip on the timeline to open Video Property.
  2. Switch to the Speed tab.
  3. Drag the slider to the left/right to slow down or speed up the video.
  4. To reverse the video, just check the Reverse speed option.

Audio

You can apply fade-in and fade-out effects to every audio clip and control its volume.

  1. Click the video clip on the timeline to open Video Property.
  2. Switch to the Audio tab.
  3. Drag the sliders to change the duration of the Fade in and Fade out effects.
  4. Move the Volume slider leftwards/rightwards to make the video quieter/louder.

To mute the audio in the video clip, just set its volume to 0%. Or directly click on the speaker icon on the video clip on the timeline.

Duration

Besides, you can change the duration of a video clip on the timeline. To be exact, you can only shorten a video clip.

  1. Click on the target video clip on the timeline to select it.
  2. Put the mouse on either end of the video.
  3. When the cursor turns into a double-headed arrow, drag the mouse inwards to shorten the video length.

If you put the cursor at the start of the video clip, you need to drag the mouse rightwards to cut off the start part of the video. If you put the cursor at the end of the video footage, you need to drag the mouse leftwards to remove the end part of the video. This is also a way to trim a video.

Another way to change the duration of a video is to change its play speed.

Edit Photo

MiniTool MovieMaker enables you to change the duration, color, and orientation of photos.

Basic (Color Correction)

You can adjust the contrast, saturation, and brightness of a photo and apply a 3D LUT effect to an image clip.

  1. Click the photo on the timeline to open Image Property.
  2. In the Basic tab, drag the sliders to change the duration, contrast, saturation, and brightness of the photo.
  3. To apply a 3D LUT effect, click its drop-down menu to select the desired effect.

MiniTool MovieMaker will automatically save the settings that you have made. If you want to apply those settings to all the photos on the timeline, just click Apply to all. On the contrary, if you want to abandon all the changes, just use the Reset button.

Tips:

You can change photo duration directly on the timeline using the same way as changing the video duration described above.

Rotation

You can flip a photo horizontally or vertically, or rotate a photo by any angle.

  1. Click the photo on the timeline to open Image Property.
  2. Switch to the Rotation tab.
  3. Select the option Flip Horizontal or Flip Vertical.
  4. Drag the slider to rotate the photo by a certain angle.

After editing the video, you can continue to edit the audio within MiniTool MovieMaker.
